Happy Birthday Avery!

Avery is one year old today.  It's hard to believe that this time last year she was less than a day old and Mom was less than barely awake(okay so maybe that part hasn't changed much)!  I know people say time flies but I'm not sure you quite understand that until you  have children.  Sure there's been a lot of the sleepless nights, poopy diapers, screaming fits, spit ups and moments of sheer panic, but really, looking back, all I remember is the first time she smiled, the first time she laughed, her learning to roll over and crawl, when she started saying "da-da" and of course "dog."  I remember laying in bed and snuggling early in the morning, I remember rocking her to sleep.  I remember her first tooth and her first bite of real food.  I think all these great memories over shadowing the bad are just God's way of ensuring we'll want another!  My little baby has turned into a little toddler.  We're setting out on new toddler adventures each day, leaving the baby ones behind.  I can't wait to see what God has in store for us next!
